- Dana White says CM Punk is probably not going to fight in the UFC again
“Is CM Punk going to be a guy who is going to stay in the UFC and continue to fight? Probably not,” White said on UFC Tonight, “But he wanted to try it. I like the guy. I respect the guy. He wanted to fight in the UFC. He wanted to do it. He trained for two years, and he did it.”
If Punkʼs UFC career is over, itʼs likely that the Chicago-born talent will soon be picked up by another MMA promotion – possibly Bellator.
Coach Roufus, who also trains former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, claimed that plenty of other promotions are interested in signing Punk and is optimistic of his future
- Jose Aldo and Dana White to meet this week – Aldo quote
UFC president Dana White recently promised to get Aldo the right fight, and listed Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis as potential opponents. Aldo, though, makes it clear that he has no interest in fighting ‘Blessedʼ.
“What means is money in the pocket, and thatʼs what Iʼm thinking about,” Aldo said. “Thatʼs why I said ‘f*ck Holloway,ʼ who won eight in a row. Some people win 10, 15, and donʼt fight for the belt. So, who is he to say anything? So I wanted Pettis because that would be a way bigger fight. Everybody wanted to watch this fight when we were supposed to fight in Brazil. You have to think about money first, itʼs business these days. First the pocket, then something else.”

Note – this is what was scheduled to be the podcast topics. This may not be exactly the content of the podcast, only a guideline for potential discussion.
- UFC 204 recap – This podcast was recorded immediately upon the completion of UFC 204. We got immediate reaction from the crew at Octagon 24/7 on a fight card that certainly delivered and exceeded the expectations of many. Bisping’s 5 round war with Dan Henderson, Gegard Mousasi’s destruction of Vitor Belfort, Jimi Manuwa surviving the early onslaught of Ovince St. Preux to get the TKO in the second round, Stephan Stuve getting the choke submission out of Daniel Omielańczuk
- Will Rhonda return? When? What is the delay? Why is she the draw she is? Dana White says she’s still the biggest draw in UFC, is this still the case? How is she a bigger draw than Conor McGregor?
- Cyborg is still calling out Rhonda. Should this fight happen? Is Rhonda ducking? Is Cyborg beatable?
- Death of Josh Samman. He was quite a unique person, a fighter who loved the sport in such a pure way that he was also a fan who guest blogged on several sites and wrote a book.
- Cerrone talking smack on Conor McGregor, is he just doing a good job of keeping his name out there or has Conor McGregor got under his skin?
- Anderson Silva is next fighter “disappointed” by UFC
- Gall and Northcutt to fight at UFC on Fox in Dec. Mickey Gall is the 100% Unofficial Favorite Fighter of Octagon 24/7
- UFC Manila (Oct 15) cancelled due to Penn injury. Should the UFC have cards that cannot withstand an injury to one person?
- UFC 203 experience, stories, etc. The staff of Octagon 24/7’s journey began at UFC 203 and will continue at UFC 205. While the excitement for UFC 205 is extremely high, it is due to the expereince of the staff at UFC 203. We hold this event near and dear to our hearts and we will continue to share the stories that came from this experience.

[spp-optin] In this inaugural episode of MMA Fancast, the crew discusses a variety of topics, including Conor McGregor. The MMA world has been buzzing with the announcement of the UFC 205 fight card. This is truly a fight card of historic proportions. Jim Miller will be scrapping with Thiago Alves, Tim Boetsch will have a middleweight battle with Rafael Natal, Tim Kennedy will go toe to toe with Rashad Evans, Khabib Nurmagomedov takes his undefeated 23-0 record to Michael Johnson and Frankie Edgar will square off against Jeremy Stevens. This should be quite a card! Did we mention that we have not even started talking about the 6 fight main card yet??? Miesha Tate returns from her short title reign, ready to fight and claw her way back to the title picture again. But first, she’ll have to get by Raquel Pennington, who is riding a nice 3 fight win streak. Another fighter, Chris Weidman, will also be back in action for the first time since losing his title (and also suffering his first MMA defeat) against fellow one loss warrior Yoel Romero, who is looking to increase his undefeated UFC record to 8-0. There will also be a cowboy on the loose in Manhattan on November 12th as Donald Cerrone attempts to bring the pain to Kelvin Gastelum, who is riding high from his UFC 200 win over Johny Hendricks. So we now know that this is going to be an amazing night of fights! But there is something that we still have not revealed to you. There are also not one, not two, but THREE, yes THREE titles on the line! Joanna Jedrzejczyk puts her belt and undefeated record on the line against the Polish Princess, Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Both fighters come in with perfect records and it will be the perfect night for one of them to be crowned the champion! In the night’s co-main event, newly crowned champion Tyron Woodley will bring his bad self up against the likes of Wonderboy, Stephen Thompson. Wonderboy is riding a 7 fight win streak and hasn’t lost since a decision loss to Matt Brown in 2012 while Tyron is fresh off his title winning, 1st round knockout of Robbie Lawler. Then finally, in the main event of the evening, The Notorious Conor McGregor brings his brash self to try making history against The Silent Assassin, Eddie Alvarez. Alvarez is coming off of his TKO, lightweight title winning domination of Rafael dos Anjos while the Notorious One is looking to continue his momentum after avenging his only UFC loss to Nate Diaz. Rydog, Sahara and Mr. Dactyl discuss the UFC 205 press conference and the brilliance of Conor McGregor. Also on their minds was Jose Aldo’s demands and wondering if fighters are not seeing the bigger picture when getting the exposure created by guys like CM Punk. The crossover appeal that exists in WWE and other sports is very real and fellows share some personal experiences for UFC 203. Hosted by Ryan Middleton, Jim “Sahara” Mooney and Dan “The Terry Dactyl” Altieri.
